The closest beach to Disney it approximately 30-40minutes away. Cocoa Beach which can be easily reached from Disney using the "Beachline Highway" (SR 528 east) which is very close to Disney. If you want to go a little further, Daytona Beach is about 50-55 minutes away by taking the same road leading to I-95 North to Daytona Beach. I suggest Cocoa, unless you want to get mobbed by Spring Breakers. Without renting a car, your options are limited to finding a taxi and spending $$$$$$$$$$. Its not going to be cheap. There is no county bus that travels to the beach, nor is there a train. You are better off renting a car using a AAA discount (find someone who has it) or see if you can find someone who is a Florida resident and some places will give a FL resident discount on car rentals. Try booking a rental online at places away from the theme parks to save some money. Otherwise, no public transportation is available to the beach. Trust me, I have lived in Orlando for the past 7 years and getting to the beach has been no fun. Sorry. Have a great vacation here!

The closest beach to Orlando is Cocoa Beach on the east coast at about 45minutes away. However the closest nicest beach is Clearwater Beach on the west coast about an hour and a half drive.
Really there is no way to get to and from the beach from Orlando without renting a car, unless you want to take a taxi or fly to St. Petersburg (west coast).

Without renting a car, it will be nearly impossible to get to one of the beaches here in Central FL due to Disney being more inland. The closest is Cocoa Beach which is about 45minutes and then there is New Symnra which is about 60minutes (east on I4). I can't find a bus route that goes from the attractions area to the beaches but that doesn't mean you couldn't get there...just may have to switch a few times and would probably take closer to hours rather than minutes to get there. Enjoy your time at Disney. They do have rather nice MAN MADE beaches there! :)

St Petersburg has something which gets under your skin and if you want to find what it's then, you will have a search with hotelbye . Nevsky Prospect is St Petersburg's major avenue and one of many best-known roads in Russia. Cutting through the traditional hub of the town, it goes from the Admiralty, symbol of Russian energy, to the Alexander Nevsky Monastery and it will undoubtedly be very wonderful to walk along this street at night when all illuminations on. Here, you will see everything: the absolute most gorgeous architecture, the superb palaces, the world-famous museums and the sparkling five-star hotels. One of the areas should see from St. Petersburg is State Hermitage Museum. The key architectural outfit of the Hermitage is located in the middle of St Petersburg and consists in: Winter Palace, after the former state residence of the Russian emperors, houses of the Small, Old (Great) and New Hermitages, the Hermitage Theatre and the Auxiliary House.

If you staying in Orlando, you can't get to a beach without renting a car. Unless you know someone who can drive you. To the east of Orlando is Daytona Beach, but that's at least an hour and a half drive. Orlando is right in the middle of florida, so there are no beaches there.

My family and I went to Melbourne Beach in Feb, 2004.
It was about an hour from Kissimmee. We loved it. It was clean, the water was warm and the people were wonderful. We had a rental car and I'm not sure how else you would get to any of the beaches without one.

I drove West to Clearwater, FL where there's a beautiful land bridge connecting the mainland and western peninsula. It took about an hour by car but I'm sure there are guided tours in Orlando and Kissimmee.
Enjoy your stay! The beaches are great.
