Gee whereare all these prices coming from?? no one does research anymore??
MacBooks(consumer model) are 1099, 1299, and 1499 for the black model. If you are a student, take 10-15% off that, as longas you show a valid id.
Now the MacBook Pros are pricey, 1999, 2499, and 2799, but the discount still applies
Macconnection is still selling the iBook(final lot) for 799
There is a striped down version of the iMac for 899, but it has the intergrated graphics like the Mac mini, and no DVD burner(17" display). If you don't need a laptop, the mini is a good alternative, esp if you already havea display(599 and 799).....

Hey auggie,
Go to the Apple web site to get the list price:
http://www.apple.com/hardware/
If you would prefer buying a cheaper, used referb, go to PowerMax:
http://www.powermax.com/
If you want to find a local Mac dealer, go to your local yellow pages and find a local dealer to buy from.
