Dude had a 68% completion percentage and the idiotic Texans go get an unproven Matt Schaub instead of getting help on the O-line and another WR to compliment Andre Johnson. I don't know which was the worst move not taking Reggie Bush or this one.

Yeah i think the Texans were ignoring the main problem that was screwing up Carr, their terrible protection. You can't put a young QB behind a line like the Texans have, and expect him to make magic happen. Bringing Peyton or Brady to the Texans won't cure them unless they improve their line. I think Carr is much better off without the Texans and he will find a starting job somewhere else eventually if not immediately

I agree with you. I don't care who you put behind that Texan O-line, they would've been toast! That O-line is ridiculously horrible and for Carr to have to take the blame for that is absurd. The Texans management has shown time and time again that it does not know what to do or which direction to take. I still can't believe they went with Mario Williams over Bush. Anyhow, to answer your question, yes.....Carr can be a #1 QB. Matt Schaub on the other hand, already has a room waiting for him at the local hospital. The QB position behind the Texan O-line is like a deathwish.

Well, Matt Schaub is better than David Carr, so I don't disagree with the move. They SHOULD have gotten an O-Line, but now at least they can concentrate on that in the draft. Of course, they lowered their position this year and traded two second rounds for next year just for Schaub, so who knows if they even know how to build a franchise.

If Green Bay manages to get Moss for Rodgers, I could foresee Carr going to the Packers for fairly cheap (maybe one of the second round draft picks they're supposed to get for Randy) and becoming the next starter in GB. That way the Packers can focus on rejuvinating their secondary in the draft.

Otherwise, with the exception of maybe the Lions, Browns or Buccaneers, I don't think he's better than any of the rest of the starting QB's in the NFL, assuming the Raiders get Rodgers or Russell (in the draft).

I think David Carr will get an unfortunate tag of being a bust. It is very unlikely that he will get another shot at QB for a while. Teams will be weary of the bad press that will undoubtedly follow him to his next location. I think that if Houston does cut him and Miami picks him up instead of trying to get Trent Green, he might stand a chance of resurrecting himself with a team that has a fresh head coach, nothing to lose press wise, and a fresh start in a city that has enough blame to go around.

I think he will. Dude never had an offensive line. He spent his entire career running for his life. No QB could succeed in that situation. The Vikings should sign him. They need a QB and they have an offensive line. He could definitely succeed there. The first thing a team would need to do with him is work on his confidence. I'm sure its down right now. You can't count him out yet. It has not been sufficiently proven that he's a loser. He desperately needs a 2nd chance.

Carr should pray the Texans get rid of him so a team willing to protect him can pick him up and give him a chance to shine before injury or old age robs him of the days he has left. I believe he is incredibly underrated and some good scouts will be watching for him to hit the market should it come to that...and he SHOULD be #1 somewhere, but not in Texas.

Exactly, Houston is so concerned with the quarterback but doesn't conceive their offensive line problems, lack of another wide receiver to complement Andre Johnson, and playmaking running back. David Carr is medicore quarterback with potential. If he's patient, he would get another chance to prove himself.

it turns out they needed a QB after all. so why didnt they draft young or leinart before hand if they felt unsure about carr? there is no arguement what you said about the texans problems at their o-line and they could use another good WR. hopefully it would be a open competition between schuab and carr. to answer your question i doubt it but he can be but would struggle. at the same time i havent seen him play around talent so who knows?

maybe in a video game

the guy is useless now, i dont think he's bad, but the texans do, I don't know how poor their OL is or not

David Carr is evolving into the new Backup Qb like trent dilfer, they will sign him to back up younger more valuable guys

Yes I think Carr will be a decent starting QB for some other team.
