You must be referring to your firewall icon. Don't fix it if it isn't broken.

That sounds like the icon that lets you know your firewall is up and working properly. Nothing to fix.

that's the firewall icon... you should be able to disable it to install programs or connect to other stuff, but you're not clear as to what is bringing up this icon.

That is your firewall. If it has green letters-ON..leave it alone. If it's off,turn it on ASAP!:)
