IN America it is illegal in all states except Oregon[1].
The standard for assisted suicide is that the patient is agreed by two doctors to be within six months of dying from an incurable condition.[2]

Jack Kevorkian is still serving time and will probably die in prison because he assisted in the death of an terminally ill patient. This man went on 60 minutes and defied a court order and as a result gave his life to protest the governments policy of forcing people to live through sometimes horrendous deaths caused by cancer and other diseases. So if you live in the USA and are really sick and are going to die you don't have the right to choose your death.

HQ3 is correct.

And Kevorkian was convicted of euthansia, because he acted to directly cause the patient's death. Euthanasia is different than assisted suicide, where the patient acts using drugs provided by the doctor. But the patient is still the final actor.

the law is that assisted suicide is accessory to murder. so if you dont live in oregon, it is automatically illegal.

I hope that you are have good reason to ask that question. Life is too precious to be wasted. Way way to precious. Every single person alive today has a life that is precious to everyone else.

i had this discussion in class about jack kovorkian and they jailed him for it so i dont think its legal, its considered second degree murder or whatever but it should be allowed. doctors do it everyday those that are suffering from severe pain need lethal drugs to make them resist pain and they will most likely die from it

ya knaw mean?

I know some countries even allow it for depressed people, but in the US it is not legal as far as I know.
