Hockey Shin Guard Straps

I play high school hockey, and have been playing hockey for 14 years. If they are too lose, then use clear tape, overyour hockey socks. It will help keep things tight. Worst comes to worst, buy a size smaller. They could be to long, thus giving it a lose feeling.

When some players use the socks, they like the lose feeling, or just the fact that they use tight socks.

You can buy things that go over your shin guards called "Shin-Tight" or you can find straps that go over them. You can find either at any hockey pro shop. Most guys use tape though. You can tape right over your shin guard if you want your socks to be cleaner looking, but everyone else pretty much tapes right over their socks. You can use plain old hockey tape but its a lot cheaper to use some clear or postal tape.

Why don't you move the Velcro on the straps to make it fit tighter?
other wise cut the straps off and put your sock on and use clear tape to wrap around the shin guard. Once around the ankle and once just below the knee.

alot of guys get clear sock tape and after you put your socks over the shin pads wrap some tape around the shin guard. a few other guys use shin guard compression sleeves. i got a pair for like $10 at www.dickssportinggoods.com. and they are like spandex sleeves that go over your shin guards then you put your socks over the sleeves and dont even need tape.
