Why are there so many people that are driving their vehicles talking on the cell phones. This could be the cause of various accidents? I'm not trying to criticise anyone, I'm just looking for a logical answer and to give someone that would like to receive 10 extra points!

People are stupid and would rather kill others than let the person calling leave a message.

Well many states' legislatures are considering bills introduced to make talking on cell phones and texting while driving illegal. This probably would not apply to hands-free speakerphone types of activity.

Personally I see this as a good idea. A driver, plain and simple, cannot devote their entire attention to driving with a cell phone held to their ear....let alone texting.

If you are driving...then DRIVE. If you want to talk on the phone, stop somewhere and do it.

And whining about being bored while driving is utter nonsense. Listen to news or music...or maybe even an audio book.

is that important while driving in traffic. That is why there is answering machines. And mail messages in the phone.

I am always on my phone in t he car. It helps pass the time. I have never been in an accident and I probably wont be in one any time soon.

There really is no "logical" answer, its convenient, it easy and for whatever reason, there seems to be someone to always talk to. Yes , it is a disttraction, but people are so used to multi-tasking, that they will continue to do so, hope that helps..????

Because they need to talk to somebody and they happen to be in their car while they are talking. It is not so dangerous if you have a hands-free headset.
