I'm 21 and I've been on the birth control pill for 8 months now, and never in my life (even while on the pill), have I missed a period. But, it's been 33 days since my last period and a home pregnancy test is negative. I've been having lower abdominal cramps and VERY little spotting today.

No, I haven't been stressed out lately and my anxieties have never caused me to skip a period before.

A week before my expected period, I wasn't taking my pills on time (like 2-3 hours late) all while having sex everyday.

My only concern is that I am taking 4 different medications (that I cannot stop taking abruptly) and I wouldn't wish any harm to my baby.

Sweetie, if it's been 33 days since your last period, you are probably pregnant. If you weren't taking your bc pills on time everyday then that offsets the hormones. Trust me I know. I'm 22 and I had my first baby in '05. Even if the pregnancy tests are negative you should still make an appointment to see a doctor. Sometimes those home tests can be faulty.

Ok, so I know you said you haven't had any extra stress or anything, but I wanted you to see that section about medications. I got this from epigee.org:

If you have a late period and a negative pregnancy test, then consider whether or not you’ve recently been sick, gained or lost a significant amount of weight, have been under excessive stress or have taken any new medications. All of these things can affect your menstrual cycle and cause you to have irregular periods.

I also found this about medications, and the effectiveness of the birth control pills:

The effectiveness of the Pill is lowered when taken with certain medications, including antibiotics, anti-seizure, tuberculosis, and migraine medications. If you are taking any medications, tell your clinician. When taking medications that may interfere with BC, consider adding a backup method of birth control, like condoms and spermicide. As with all drugs, it is useful to inform all your medical providers if you are using hormonal birth control.

It is very possible to be pregnant and test negative on a home test. Some tests may not be able to detect the hcg level in your urine yet. A blood test will answer your question, guaranteed. Good luck!

Very hard to say. What I can say is that it makes no difference that you took the pills a couple hours late - won't matter in the least. It certainly could be the medications, although really only antibiotics are commonly associated with decreased effectiveness of birth control. But if you're on Accutane, get off it if there's even the slightest chance you're pregnant!

I think it's time for you to head to the doctor. The pregnancy tests at their office will be more reliable, and if you're not pregnant they can give you a better idea of what's going on.

Home pregnancy test works after 30 days of pregnancy. before that it's not reliable.
Most of the pills if they are taken too late will cause early period, usually within 48 hrs.
Cysts on the ovaries can make you feel like you're got pregnant ( I had once that šproblem, even my breasts started to grow, and I was starting to get morning sickness. It took 1 month of antibiotics to solve the problem)
Since I don't know what kind of pills you're taking there is still possibility that you are pregnant (may be they are not appropriate for you). Wait 2-3 more days to see what's happening with that spot. If it doesn't turn into proper period, go to see your doctor.

I suggest you wait until tomorrow. Mine got crazy and now is always a 33 days cycle. Then you can try and taking a test. And if its negative you should wait a week.

Now by what you wrote is very likely that you are pregnant because you had an implantation bleeding. So
Congrats if you are.

Hope you are by the Way!!
