I would say that this would be a resounding NO. Those people can get sick really easily given their advanced age. I would think you could have a good lawsuit there.

Couldn't tell you, but generally, food is safe, if properly stored, for up to a couple weeks past the expiration date - especially if cooked/prepared immediately after being opened.

Besides, you do know that store-bought ground meats are meats that have exceeded their "sell-by" dates, don't you?
