Grades are important, but getting into a top school is not really as big of a deal as some people make it out to be. If your grades aren't good enough for a 4-year university, do a year or two at a community college after you graduate and get your grades up. Then you can apply to the universities you like as a transfer student and they will only look at the grades you got in your community college, not your high school grades or your test scores.

To be perfectly honest, unless you got an amazing SAT score, your low B grades are probably a bit too low to get into any schools that are even remotely competitive. Definitely check around your area for community colleges. Also, you really need to learn to be more motivated and get your work done. Don't give up when it gets hard. If you "kinda fail towards the end", you won't make it very far in college.

Good luck!

First of all, what do you imply by means of a "well institution"? If you are speaking Ivy League, then sure, you do have purpose to fear. Also, you do not HAVE to ship any institution that AP experiment ranking, so do not strain approximately that one. Then, you must do not forget that a C in an AP magnificence is larger than a B in an Honors magnificence. The worst factor you'll do is strain such a lot approximately this, it's going to most effective damage your wellness and all of your different grades. If you continue to have adequate credit to graduate, you'll customarily see in case your institution will permit you to drop the category. There's plenty of drastic measures you'll take, however you do have to chill out. One unhealthy grade is not the tip of the arena. Unless you propose to principal in math, you can be excellent.

I think you're way too stressed over this. It doesn't make sense to me that you should be worried about your physics course if you want to be a film maker. You might not get into NYU but there are plenty of schools you can go to where they study cinema and where a solid B student would be welcome. You better look around and see what other schools have programs in film. What about some of the art colleges?

Use the princetonreview.com or collegeboard.com college search programs to find some more schools with the majors you like. Stop stressing, and stop believing that if you dont get into one particular school your life is over! That's nonsense.

Calm down, work methodically, and have some fun. Things will work out OK!

Good luck!

Matt has good advice. My old history teacher always used to tell us that we could get a good college education just about anywhere. I think he meant more like 'every tier of school' rather than 'every single university in existance', but you get the idea.

Your grades should get you into a nice 4-year right off, but if you aren't 100% happy with it, then you can always transfer after 2 years. For that matter, you could even go to community college and transfer after 2 :-)

first of all, I have to congratulate you on having a goal, you need more postativity aroud you.

If you want to acheive anything you have to bear the following in mind.

1. what is my ability
2. what help do I need to improve my ability
3. I am gonna get the help to improve
4. I am gonna work damn hard to get it.

sometimes the key is understading just one little thing and the rest falls into place.

good luck and go for it you can and will make it, theres always a way.

The ACT exam is the important one. If you believe in yourself that is the greatest gift that you can have. When you go for your college interview, keep that in your head. Be positive.
You'll do fine. Colleges want people with driving willpower. Stay focused. Make those other people "EAT THEIR WORDS".

don't listen to the people that tell you that you will fail- its not their life, its yours.
Schools also look at your activities and how you've been involved...its not just about grades. They also look at your essays.
The thing is- don't see yourself as a failure, you're not. You just have to find your niche.......look at your strengths and market your strengths. If ever you find yourself getting discouraged just remind yourself of the things that you do well.

You better learn how to deal with stress better. High school is nothing compared to college assuming you go to a decent school.
