.Net Framework 1.1?

I have been trying to install the security update for .net framework 1.1 but it fails every time. Something about the path of netfx. Do I really need the update

If you plan on running any programs that utilize the .NET 1.1 framework, then you would do well to get the update. Try uninstalling the framework (Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs) and reinstalling it from scratch.

not really ...automatic updates had already released 2.0 and 3.0 framework
