No way Jose...thats what they are there for...to not only teach but to advise and mentor as well. Besides, really how long can that conversation last...a few minutes?

I don't think that is rude at all. I would ask for their office hours, and then talk to them then. If I was the professor, I would be impressed that you were thinking ahead and wanting to know about the class beforehand.

Call their secretary and set up an appointment. It is not rude to inquire about a class, nor is it rude to make an appointment to visit with them (it must be at THEIR convenience, due to hectic schedules, however).

Another tip: Make a list of questions to take with you so you are certain to ask them all once you get there and don't leave with unasked questions. A second appointment to ask questions about the same class could be considered rude or annoying.

God Bless.

specific, I consider CuriousChica. it could be extra useful to ask the professor exterior of sophistication time, as a manner to not take time removed from his planned lesson, yet you do make a reliable case that that's appropriate to the certainly subject count of the path, so i think it does not probable be out of place to ask for the period of type as nicely, in case you clarify why you think of this is appropriate. If the professor disagrees, then you certainly can consistently bypass talk with him extra for the period of his place of work hours. (Professors like it while human beings actualy look and talk issues different whining approximately their grades for the period of place of work hours!)

then email them and mention that you would like to stop by their office hour..........they may have meetings with current students scheduled.

no its not rude. it means that you might come by office hours when you actually take the class right?

I see nothing wrong with that at all. They may even be encouraged that someone is really concerned about their education as well as interested in the subjects they are teaching.
