i have noticed this reluctance indeed my friend......i know what u mean.....

it is rubbish. a foul is a foul is a foul.....they should be called whether a team is playing at home or at mars....

sigh......guess its mental pressure on them though......they are human *shrugs*

dont know what can be done about it short of punishing them for every blatant wrong decision they make...hmmmm.
like the west ham match last weekend....how could the refs possibly think that the ball crossed the line

i agree that decisions sometimes don't agree with what you see on t.v, but don't forget they don't have the advantages of re-play's, they just see in an instant and so do the linesmen. They have to make a decision there and then. Maybe the fans influence them, i don't know but maybe ref's should be interveiwed after games and asked what influenced their decisions? maybe more ref's should say "yes i made a mistake but i'm only human". People would respect them more. But after watching football for 20 odd years i have noticed that bad decisions rectify themselves in other matches. And yes i agree with another member, west ham's"goal" did not cross the line.

If the home team in Man Utd...refs are homers cause they wan't a bit of action just like you want.
If you are a Chelsea fan, refs there suck as you want them to suck.
If you are a liverpool it takes the the effort to suck ***** like morons like you to be a homer.
When you go to the Royal Arsenal team...homer refs would have been asked to kick ***.

I've seen it happen quite a lot. Most likely for cash ..

I wish they start relying on technology to reinforce the rules. There's so many things single referee cant catch at the same time.
