Gays are born gay just like straight people are born straight.
It's not like some disability.

That has been the biggest question in the gay marriage trials. Some people claim that they were born gay. And some science proves that this is possible. Alot of this has to do with the way a child was raised however. Children such as young males who grow up with strong female influences like mothers do have a higher chance of being a homosexual, girls who have strong male influences are more likely to become a gay as well. I personally do not believe we are born to love those of the same sex, we are raised to. But I respect the idea either way.

i think that true homosexuals are born that way because I was 6 when i realized i was a lesbian and that is a little young to really understand fully what that means, but if they get the hint early in life then i believe they are born this way, now in my opinion fake gays/lesbians are the ones that do it just to do it, because they cant find the right person for them but they have no real intentions of living their lives with a same sex partner and they could never be true to just one sex......eventually bi people settle down with one or the other.

I was born that way and didn’t have any choice in the matter. I knew from the age of 6 and there was nothing I could do to change it. Women are great as friends, but sexually they disgust me (and they always have). So all the theories that say “none of us are 100% gay or 100% straight” are crap.
Straight people and bisexuals can give “thoughts and opinions” on the subject, but they don’t know how it feels. Some say “I think it’s a choice” because that’s their experience with their own sexuality (not the case for me as a gay man). I’d rather cut my penis off than have sex with a female, is that me making a choice to be gay? I don’t think so.

Of course you're born one way or the other, and sometimes both I guess. I am straight. And like someone else so eloquently stated earlier I would rather cut it off than go against my natural orientation. I still don't think it's possible for a man to swear off women unless they were born to be attracted to other men. It's just not a choice you wake up one morning and make.

I sort of answered this question already, but pretty much there are many different types of sexualities. Homosexuality, Bisexuality, Heterosexuality, Pansexuality, and so forth are most of the time, a chosen state. I, being Bisexual, feel at times I was born bisexual, but I know it is more of a choice if anything else, since I do choose who my partner is, and whatever sex they are, so it really does not matter to me personally. Secondly, your question is a normal one, in that homosexuality is BOTH normal, and abnormal, but is in no way wrong. Normal homosexuality is seen as when a man/woman, is sexually attracted to the same sex. This being also a feeling, and a choice to what pretains to one's personal sexual needs. Abnormal homosexuality is when a man or woman was suppose to be the opposite sex, such as when a man has more estrogen than testoserone, and vice versa for a woman. This is not a normal part of what we consider the average for nature, although it is a defunct in Nature's imperfect design, and may be seen as abnormal. This does not mean that homosexuals are bad, wrong, or evil, it just means that some of them are just not normal to the standards of a heterosexual dominant society.

Well, I realised I was gay when I was about 11 when I started being attracted to others, and soon realised that I was attracted to males and not females. But now that I look back I think I was always gay because I never though about going to be with a woman. And no, I didn't choose to be gay just like straight people dont choose to be straight, they just are what they are.

I am not a lesbian, but I am bisexual.
Ive had crushes on girls since I was very young. I didnt know how to express this until my first experience at 16. Then, Ive had multiple experiences since then. Even in elementary school I liked girls and got excited to see them naked. I loved looking at my dads porn magazines, then Id go take a long bath. This is who we are, we dont choose it. Why would anyone choose to be an outcast?
BTW, I love having both worlds. Im very happily married and as you can imagine, so is my husband.

Sometimes, when I was young, I was mistaken for being a little girl. I didn't choose what I'm attracted to, I was born with it. What if it is a genetic defect brought on my my mom being exposed to my dad's second hand smoke while she was pregnant with me? Can I sue the tobacco companies?

I was born this way. I chose to deny it for 21 years out of fear of what people would say about it. Now I don't care what people think, it's my life and I'll live it the way that makes me happy.

I think having sexual feelings for your own gender instead of the opposite gender is something you're born with. But there are a lot of people in that category who choose to live a lie by entering a heterosexual marriage. The decision to be honest with ones self and others is definitely a "choice"!
