The ratio of Aldo's cycling speed to Jose's cycling speed is 6:5. Jose leaves school at 3 P.M. and Aldo Leaves at 3:10 P.M. By 3:30, Aldo is only 2 KM behind Jose. How fast is e ach cycling?

How do you solve this and how do you set a a RT=D chart?

Because Aldo and Jose's speeds are in a ratio, you need to express their speeds as 6x and 5x. Aldo travels from 3:10 pm to 3:30 pm (20 min) and Jose travels for 30 minutes. You need to express these in hours.

R | T | D
Aldo | 6x | 1/3 | 2x
Jose | 5x | 1/2 | 5/2 x

Jose = Aldo + 2 km
So,
5/2 x = 2x +2

You can probably solve this from here. I get x = 4, so you can plug this into 6x and find Aldo's speed and 5x to find Jose's speed.

Hope this helps!

First we are given Aldo cycling at a consent speed which in terms is. S=D/T which will you give you 6/5 as speed.

We are also given that Jose leaves at 3, and Aldo leaves 10min after Jose did.

30 min later, Aldo is 2km behind Jose.

Take 6/5 divid by 1/6 and solve.

You take the fraction above and convert it to speed in terms of Jose. which is S=D/S and subtract 2. Which will have Jose Speed. Then you times it by 2 and divid it by 1/2 which will get Adldos speed.

To graph it you need have R on the y and time on the x.
