Check the rules- many science fairs do not allow live animals, or have strict rules about using them.

I'd do 'snake repellants'- is there any commonly available product that keeps snakes away? Rope, moth balls, etc.

you could do something about the quality of mice and rats sold at pet stores to feed snakes and what difference is showed if you feed the prey some fruit or veggies for a while before feedin the snake. i did my own experiment on this and found that just taking an hour to feed the mice carrots and multi grain cheerios kept my snakes fuller for longer and kept them glossy and healthy. good luck

Have you ever thought of building a maze & placing a feeder mouse/rat in the maze & letting the snake find it in the dark? This demonstrates their sense of smell in locating objects without really using vision.( the bait should be a thawed rodent, not a live one)

try the art of adapting to evolution and studying the way they move and maneuver without limbs. you can also compare them to other animals
