No. Goth is all dark and such. Emo stands for emotional, and is technically a type of music. It has become a label of people only recently.

Dear God, no! Goth and Emo is way different. Goths play a lot of games that circle around the idea/fascination with death, but rarely truly seek it. Emo's actively cut and mutilate their bodies with anything they can find... overdose themselves on whatever drugs are around and try to get as close to death as possible, and hope someone can pull them back before they actually die; they usually seem to change their mind, when the reaper's hand is touching their shoulder.

no. the goths were actually a group of people (i believe a christian sect?) that became a clothing style xD emo was a type of music, that ALSO became a clothing style, similar to the gothic style. some say "emo" stands for emotional when u cut urself to deal with sadness and emotional pain.

goths tend to be more aggressive .. they care less about everything and give off a more " if u talk to me ill slit your wrists"oh.. and look straight into the camera (opposed to "emo" ppl.. who tend to look up.. or down straight into the camera)
emos are.. exactly what it stands for, emotional. they "hate their life".. and those who don't, give off a vibe they do. the emo fad has picked up habits like wrist slitting/cutting and other self harm actions.
theres probably alot of labelling in that paragraph but honestly.. i dont care.

No, and emo is NOT when you cut yourself people or when they are depressed. You guys need to stop saying, stuff like, "Oh, they cut their wrists, slicing or whatever." NOT TRUE.
Emo is a genre (kinda) and a person.
Goth is a genre (kinda) and they do NOT have to:
Worship Satan
Wear black (nail polish)
any of those.
Quit judging people these days.

thank you who ever said that judging is bad and people should stop it goth and emo is two different things there as different as me and some one else i dont see what the big deal is about goths and emos they dont look for attention just like preps and jocks arnt air headed plastic fakes i mean really there are some people out in the world that are normal and still cut their selfs and for the record goths dont worship satin its a stupid sterio type

I think emo and goth are just another way for children to be depressed. "Poor me, I'll just sit here and listen to my ipod and lounge around in my $70 ripped jeans feeling sorry for myself. Then I think I'll drive around in the new car my parents bought for me because I was cutting myself, secretly for attention."
It's sick. Kids today need to grow the hell up. Get involved, get a job, and stop your bitching. If you had to live 20 years ago you would sh*t your pants. Back then, parents still got to discipline their children for screwing up. We were happy to get a 5 cent sucker from the gas station. We only had 20 TV channels and one MTV.

No. Goth is dark, dark makeup, dark clothing, death/cemetary etc. they were alot of lace, leather, vinyl, listen to stuff like Marilyn Manson.
Emo is emotionally music, they were regular clothing, glasses, carry bags, have weird haircuts, cut themselves, depressed. It's all strange but they don't usually wear dark clothing.
