Fifty bucks a week and he earns 60,000, while you have all the responsibility of raising his child...hell yeah, I would be totally cranky with him. I would take this matter back to court. If you know he earns 60,000 a year then the child support people need to know it too. Looks like you will have to pay for the dress and the shoes, but he will end up paying a higher price when he is forced to pay the correct amount for his daughter......a dress and a pair of shoes is such a small price to pay considering he will now be requiring to pay much more than that on a permanent basis until the child is 18. What a selfish man...no wonder you divorced him because he doesnt seem to have a paternal bone in his body. Hes got the money and if he loved his daughter he would buy the lousy dress and shoes.
Go see a lawyer, a good one, who will get you what you deserve.
Its a tough job raising a child on your own and fifty dollars a week is pitiful in comparison to your daily expenses.

I don't think it is wrong to ask your ex to buy the clothes but always think about your child. This is really not worth fighting over and making things hard for her. You can go pick up a dress and shoes at Walmart for less than $25. Most men think since they pay child support you shouldn't ask for any more money. They don't realize how expensive it is to raise a child and the child support only goes so far. Be the better parent and always prepare for holidays and clothes a few months in advance.
Good luck!

It's not what you say but how you say it, right? You might have done better to have told him you would pack your daugther something nice but would not be able to include a new Easter outfit. Do what you can legally to have his child support increased. State laws can garner his wages, and you can arrange to have the check delivered weekly through the system. He does sound like a slacker, and you aren't likely to win any debates with him about fairness. Just send your daughter with her best dress, etc. and your love. Pack her an inexpensive bunny or baby duck, too...one from a dollar store...with a note, wishing her a happy, blessed Easter. He is risen!!

well perhaps your ex needs to read up on what child support is really for...child support is for
1. electricity they use, 2. the food they eat, 3. the roof over there head, 4. the t.v they watch, 5. the phone they will use ect...this man is only paying 50.00 sometimes this boy needs a reality check quick...let him pay for all those things...I bet 50 dollars wont cover it...so no i don't think you were rude for asking such a small thing of him to do...thats the least he can do...good luck to you...by the way every year you can take him back to court to get your child support raised...its called a cost of living for the child...

Whoever gets your daughter for the weekend should buy her the dress and shoes. After all, they are the one who gets to see her in it.
Divorce seems so complicated. Bitter battles over little things. True, he does make more than you and he should pay a little more than $50 per week, but that isn't his fault. You should get a new hearing for child support.

No it was not rude it was pointed which most ex's can't handle. I advise u to take him back to court on the child support issue. It can easily be proved what he makes and therefor raise his support requirements and possibly even be made to pay back support on that sum as well. Good luck

Take his dead beat as sback to court, get child support raised- and garnished from his check, then pay for the dress yourself.
Maybe next time, he wont be so rude.

take his butt back to court, he can get in big trouble for lying about his earnings or not reporting an increase in earnings.
