I'm answering for Marlboro too, in looking around and doing some calculations I see the answer is "East of True North". I think this is true because- Much of the Rocky Mountains is in Colorado (39N 106W)- this computes to an approximate declination of 9 degrees 56 minutes East of True (0 degree) North. Variable. You would need a declination map. Mountains are more likely to have large iron deposits in various places.
