Not a question that anyone can really answer, but I think that some honest guesses are Walter Jones (he's slipping though), Jonathan Ogden, LT, Champ Bailey, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Jamal Williams, and Torry Holt (prob most underrated player out there).

lol there is no such thing as WHat is the best players, because players are people and people are "whos"
The best player in the nfl is
Tom Brady or LaDainian Tomlinson- offense
Brian Urlacher or Julius Peppers- defense
throw in Champ Bailey in D too

LT. The guy can do it all. Run Catch Pass. it don't matter.
I do however like the argument for Brees as well, the guy came in with little known receivers (beside Joe "injured list" Horn) and put up some good numbers.

I would have to say Drew Brees because the first year he came to the Saints he was putting up huge numbers with some good receivers. He should have won the MVP of the league last year. Different people have different opinions and thats mine.
