Is this a good idea? Do you know anybody who has done this? How did it turn out? Could this potentially be dangerous? Could this potentially turn out great? I have been talking to this woman for several months and she has never asked me for anything.

I've heard only horror stories about this kind of thing. Turn off your computer and find a woman closer to you who isn't trying to get out of a depressed country.

Why don't you just travel to Manhattan/NYC/ USA to find a woman to get married to?
I mean, statistically the most educated, interesting and attractive single women are there. They would welcome you with open arms, I'm sure.
Or go to Mary's town in Michigan (see answerer directly above). I mean, you could start talking with Mary over the internet much easier and Michigan is much less dangerous than Russia.

I know several people who thought about this after watching a TV show on Russian wives. One of the guys haven't come back yet. Not worried he does this allot. The only guys I know who have left the states to marry someone did so to Japan. Both guys found, married, and brought back Japanese wives. These were not military guys! I have seen both women and they are drop dead gorgeous! Plus they show more respect to their husbands than you would ever find here in the states. If you want my opinion, do it! I have seen several Russian women (young) that come over near us to work at an entertainment park, they all show a distinct difference in character, positive traits, than the locals!

I have just answered another question very similar to yours.
Most replies were giving advice to be very careful it could be a very clever con artist.
Think about the pro's and cons. What would you have to lose to go there? Maybe everything will be taken from you .. then would you be able to survive back home with nothing? Would you be able to afford to get back home?
Be very cautious in this situation and don't let your heart run away with your head.

You never said if you have met this woman in person or if she wants to live in Russia or Canada. This should be your first concern. Get to know her for real and please visit the country before you decide. Some women just want a ticket to Canada so watch out!!!

A co-worker of mine did that after he met her on a Russian bride for u website (no longer in business) and all she wanted was for him to send money to her family. Be careful. They are not as innocent as they act or appear. The needy ones are usually the most treacherous.

I would suggest that if you have a bond with this woman, go meet her and hang out, do not get married at first!! Wait a couple of years and if it sticks, then get married!! :)

My cousins friend did and she was a gold digger she just wanted to come to US and take half his money even though she got arrested for smuggling some stuff.
