Taking money for goods and services is part of capitalism. Corporations donate money behind the scenes, but most forms of media will take advertisements from either side if they're large enough to encompass a varied audience. Smaller, more partisan sources will only support the candidate they prefer, but large companies can't afford to do this, it alienates a lot of people.

Yahoo is probably going to take questions from and run advertisements for every major presidential candidate. In the end, it's about making a profit.

Paid political ads?

I've seen a question from Hilary Clinton, but that was of her own accord. I've also seen a question from John McCain. If those questions were featured, it's because they were popular and stimulating, not because Yahoo! has an agenda.

Content Providers have no business in Politics. If I found that my money going to Yahoo! was funding the likes of Madam Clinton I would have to move my accounts elsewhere. I wouldn't move if they supported a conservative, but I still think it is wrong.

They are ads which means somebody paid Yahoo to put up her ad. That's how Yahoo makes money. Selling ad space. They don't care who buys it.

I've seen her questions and they're rather juvenile, but she probably pays for campaigning, right?

I don't think it helps her cause much anyway.

I'm starting to think Y!A is going to make money by creating a large network of information experts who can encourage consumers to buy their products. In a way campaigning is right up that alley.

I wouldn't say they betrayed us, they just made a business decision. That is how capitalism works.
