When a betta mates, the male makes a nest of bubbles, and the eggs are layed in it by the female, and fertilized by the male. I would say that when you got him, there were female betta's around, and he is nest building. Just keep removing them and he will stop eventually.

It is a nest for the female to have her eggs is, if you were to take the male out of the tank while the bubbles are there and put a female betta in the tank she would lay the eggs and then take her out and put male back in he will fertilize the eggs and well you know the rest of the story

Male betta fish usually make bubble nests when they are ready to mate. They will continue to make a bubble nest untill a female comes along and they mate. Untill then, they will continue to do that. Hope this helps.

In the wild male Betta fish blow bubbles as part of a mating ritual, even if you only have one fish, he does not realize that a female is not somewhere near.

He is making a nest. Male bettas do this from time to time. When they mate with a female, she lays her eyes in the bubble nest and he takes care of them.

Its nothing to worry about.

And...you don't need to get a female betta. Mixing males and females takes work. The female can reject the male and kill him or visa versa...and believe it or not he can get depressed with a female and die.

They are best alone.

This is called a bubble nest. Labyrinth fish, such as betta fish, gouramie have this organ to breath atmospheric air. Don't worry!

Bettas are surface breathers so when they go to the top of the tank to take a breath it will sometimes leave a buble where she took the breath at the top the bubles might not go away to quick dont worry it is only natural.

Its a healthy male beta making a bubble nest. Nothing is wrong, it means you are doing everything right! When he gets older he won't do that anymore.
