I got a parking ticket whilst dropping my daughter off outside a friend's house. I have noticed though that the registration number on the ticket is wrong. They have put dwn 00 instead of 52. Am I lucky and got away with the fine?

if the reg no is incorrect ignore it they will never find you as the car wont be regestered to you sometimes other people put there parking tickets on your car and you dont notice and pay .the local councl need to prove its your car and even if they took a pictuure at the time it doesnt prove it related to the said ticket if you have told them they made a mistake and put the wrong reg on the ticket dont worry about it as they wont take it to court hold your ground good luck

Lucky for you - you had an illiterate traffic warden!

Now go buy a lotto ticket

UK ?
The ticket can not be legal as it refers to a different vehicle.
They will not be able to find you through the database and some unsuspecting soul will recieve a fine through the post and have to appeal against it.

I'd be confident that you've gotten away with it. I've contested tickets on smaller technicalities than that and got away with them.

Think you have very good grounds not to pay the fine.

ignore it because it is not your car. You are under no obligation to correct their mistakes.
