LOS ANGELES — Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said Tuesday that the views of his conservative critics, including Rush Limbaugh, are irrelevant to his work in California.

"All irrelevant. Rush Limbaugh is irrelevant. I am not his servant," Schwarzenegger said in an interview on NBC's "Today" show.

The governor's repudiation of Limbaugh comes as he is being accused of betraying his party's values. Many fellow Republicans have balked at Schwarzenegger's more moderate views on stem-cell research, global warming and universal health care.

Schwarzenegger said he was "the people's servant of California. What they call me — Democrat or Republican or in the center, this and that — that is not my bottom line."

Limbaugh responded on his radio program: "If he had the leadership skills to articulate conservative principles and win over the public as (former President) Reagan did, then he would have stayed conservative."

I just have to say that I was extremely impressed and proud of Arnold. I saw that news clip last night; he made it clear he is about the constituents and that party labels aren't dog sh**t to him. Now that's a man. Limbaugh? Limbaugh will also die a lonely and demoralized man who never contributed to the country, like our friend McCarthy.

Limbaugh. I heard Arnold on his show today.

What Rush is saying is Arnold is not a conservative. He sells out conservative principles all the time.

For example, there is a difference between caving in and compromising. Caving in is when a Republican votes for a new government entitlement. Compromising is when they stick to their beliefs of small government.

This is what Rush is referring to. There are too many liberal Republicans.

Sorry buddy, I dont really listen to Rush and listen little to Arnold. But I saw Arnold talking about the environment and I do agree with him there, we need to do a little more in the environment, since we live here, we should be the ones that clean it

I would say Arnold. Not because I feel he has some moral advantage to Rush but because Arnold hasn't been in the crew that long and I think he'd be more willing to play well with others.

Ahnold will whup that druggy out of his stupor all over the TV station... that would be better than watching "professional" TV! Can you imagine that fat, pompous wind-bag trying to harm anyone other than a woman...? HA!

Ahnold would terminate his butt and beat him like rented donkey.

Oh, I'd love to see the face on Rush Limburger-cheese's face if they BOTH got on the elevator at the same time... Ha!

Hahahahaha... Rush would go "down" but not for the count... let's just say that it's "sensored" and leave it at that... it's what Rush Limburger-cheese would do if he had been sent to a regular prison... to keep his sphincter muscles from being stretched by a couple of "big" bruisers in jail that would consider him "sweet cakes." At least Arnold would fight to defend his fanny in jail...!

Neither. Rush is too much of a republican - follows the party line (where ever it may lead) Not from cali, don't really follow Arnold (or Rush)
ADD:
Well given that article I would argree with Rush that he has left the conservative base. But not actually hearing the whole comment and talk around it, its hard to take a "side"

Actually, I heard the interview today on Rush. Did you? If you missed it, it was a very friendly exchange. And, it was Arnold who requested to be on Rush's show. Sorry to libs, but they seem aligned against the media in its attempt to try to make this a story.

But, as much as I love Arnold, I still agree with Rush.

They will choose Rush and say that Arnold is a Liberal in disguise.
