It seems that today people know mainly relational databases.
Among classical DBMS types, there are also Tree Structures (widely used today in Management Information Base - MIB - for Simple Network Management Protocol - SNMP) and Plex Structures.

3.1, If I remember right from DB Theory class, but only Relational and OO'rized version of it stays around as general DBMS.
