The formal term for it is 'Describing a noun'

A simpiler way to think of it would be thinking of a word like 'Cute dog' ask yourself what kind of dog is it.

The answer would be 'cute' a 'cute' dog. As in the word is telling what kind of dog it is.

Try these for practice.

A house

A big house

A small house

My house.

Now look at these and ask yourself which of these have an adjective in it. Remember the an adjective describes 'what kind' something is.

answers 2-4 are correct. 'My' is showing possession or ownership towards the object or noun being 'house'. 'You' would be still a noun so by saying this is 'my house' would be an adjective. 'His' 'Her' etc. are also possessive adjectives.

Hope this helped. You still may want to present what you find useful and present it to your teacher or whoever your turning to for help. They may be able to convert this way into something more helpful for you.
