We have had a battery operated lawn mower for two years and are very happy with it. We have almost half an acre to mow and the mower will do about 2/3 of it before it runs out of power. It's nice that way, you have an excuse to stop mowing. It recharges in about three hours.

Well, I purchased a John Deere Electric Lawn Mower last summer with a key starter. It needed to be charged, but after I got it home I couldn't fine the place to plug in the charger. I called John Deere because I had bought the warranty and John Deere was suppose to come out and fix any problem They refused and sent me back to Lowe's. I went to 2 different Lowe's and neither one had staff who could show me where to plug the charger in, so I took the whole thing back and got a refund. I now have a company come out every 2 weeks and mowers my lawn.

I hope your yard is only a 5X5. Buy lots of beer and wait for the mower to charge. If you're trying to save the earth it won't happen. Electricity used to charge the mower is not a renewable source of energy.

the electrical powered mower is greener, besides the fact that if the electrical powered energy is from a coal fired plant because of fact the emissions on a potential plant are extra useful controlled than from a backyard extra, small engines like backyard mowers spew a good form of emissions for their length
