How to pronounce the name "Persephone"?

I like it and am thinking of using it in my book. But how do you pronounce it? And what do you think some nicknames of it should be?

it's pronounced Per·seph·o·ne . it is a Greek goddess that was kidnapped by hades. the name means bringer of destruction. it kind of fits because when her mother went searching for her she neglected the earth and that's supposedly how we got winter... (that's how the myth goes anyways)

I LOVE this name!! I pronounce it per-SEF-ahnee. I've seen Persia used as a nickname for Persephone.

I had a cat, given to me already named Percephini. (Purr sef ini). That's the first time I'd heard the name then seen the spelling of Persephone.

Anyway, we called her Sephie (seffie) most of the time. She was a wonderful cat, just died this past January of cancer. Percephini is a name that I'll never forget.
