Usually I delete unwanted e-mails after I've read them. But sometimes I get fed up and allow them to pile up, then perform a mass deletion whenever I'm in the mood.

I delete the ones i don't really care for and then put the good ones in folders that I created. It is a good way to keep things in my mail without letting it build up in my inbox.
Mostly I do alot deleting though, because I get alot of junk mail (even in my inbox).

I delete them after I read them, no point in letting them just sit there
