no i saw this on the maury show. Identical twins share the product of one egg and one sperm which after fertilization the embryo will begin to grow and then split into two fetuses. Identical twins have 100% of their genetic markers in common; therefore, no genetic test can distinguish which of them is the true biological father. Twins have the same DNA and therefore, if they both are alledged to be the father of a child, the results can only determine that neither twin is the father of the child in question or that one of the twins could be the father but it would not be possible through DNA testing to determine which twin is the father. Other non genetic factors must be considered in determining the paternity of the child in question.

Nope, they have nearly identical DNA. There are a few differences even between identical twins, but no paternity test is sensitive enough to pick up on those. And whether or not it's the same day makes no difference at all.
Haaa! LOL, just had to check this.

The twins have essentially identical DNA, so no, it wouldn't help.
I suppose in the future, if there were fancy DNA tests that were so precise that they could pick up on some of the single digit mutations that one twin might have and the other not, that then a DNA test could distinguish, but that would be a very small needle in a very large haystack.

i believe not. identical twins have identical genetic material, meaning that their DNA is exactly identical. Therefore, I think genetic testing may not be able to determine the paternity.

DNA in identical twins is identical so there would be no way of telling who fathered the child

Nope. Identical twins have the same DNA. Don't ask me who would end up paying child support.

That's interesting! That would be really sad for the kid, though to never know for sure who his father was. Interesting link the one answerer sent...seems that's going on right now in Canada.

no- you wouldn't be able to tell which twin was the father based on DNA.
