It's usually better to receive, unless you have a partner who just goes wild when you give it- then their estactic reaction is more fun and wonderful than getting anything yourself.
And I'm not just talking sexually- it's true in most areas of life, I think, at least for me.

I ADORE recieving pies from my wife. She smashes as many as 5 in my face at a time. Also, i adore recieving her bridal make overs. But i adore giving her all of me in any way i can

Hmmmmm... I'd say a good balance in giving and receiving should be attained, cuz you will never appreciate receiving unless you can give and vice versa.
