I've been a Rangers fan my whole life. The cup win in 94 was the happiest moment of my life. I have lived and died with the team every year since then (and a couple years before that too), and keep hoping for a return to that experience of 13 years ago. It was so exciting when Gretsky got them to the conference final in 97 but then I had to endure the humiliating defeat at the hands of the hated Flyers.

I grew up in Detroit, so naturally my favorite team is the Red Wings. I'm still sad that Yzerman has retired, for the record, he's a great player and a great guy.
However, except maybe Chicago, I'm also a big fan of the other original six teams. It pains me to see three of the teams (Rangers, Habs, Leafs) struggling to get into the playoffs with the Bruins a little bit further down pretty much out of it. I also wish I could see the four East Original Six teams more often than twice every three years (except Chicago which I get to see 24 times over that same span... whee), but the original six matchups I'm able to catch on CBC or the rare Vs./NBC game is just a thrill.
It's been awhile since an original six team besides Detroit made the finals, and it would do the league good to have one of the other original six in the finals, perhaps against Detroit or even Chicago in a few years.
There are other teams in the league I root for, but I particularly love watching these six. Except, again, maybe for Chicago, but that's probably just the Red Wing fan in me.

Red Wing fan. I was a fan in the 1970s and watched them ever since. My brother and I would watch them on the old 12 inch black and white TV with horrible sound. The first years I remember Ted Lyndsey was the GM and all of their advertisnig compaign was "Aggresive Hockey is back in town" I watched Stevie Y grow up in front of my eyes. I remember when the announcers were still trying to learn how to pronounce his name. When some of the big fans of the 90s wouldn't watch the "Dead Things" I was watching. When the bandwagon jumpers are getting on and off, I am watching. I even have a Gordie Howe Jersey in my closet.

Montreal Canadiens. growing up as a little kid watching my Habs playing the greatest game on earth. my first jersey was from my grandfather which he gave me when i was 4 years old and it was a Maurice "The Rocket" Richard jersey with his name and number 9. i was born in Longeuille Quebec just over the bridge to Montreal and i got to see many games over the years and great players such as my all time favourite Larry "Big Bird" Robinson and other great names such as Cournoyer, Henri Richard, Ken Dryden, Guy Lafleur and the list goes on and on. the history of this team is so rich, full of great memories that will last a life time. the Montreal Canadiens where founded in 1909 the oldest team in hockey today there celebrating their 100th anniversary in the 2008-09 season and they are hosting the 2009 all-star game and it will be huge and I'm going for sure. even today when my beloved Montreal Canadiens enter on to the ice i get chills just like i did when i was a little boy watching them. they are the best sporting franchise in all of sports. and alos getting to see great ravalries throughout the years with the other original six teams which they played more often then they do today. the league needs to keep these rivalries alive with the Habs, Red Wings, Black Hawks, Leafs, Bruins and Rangers. then when you see these original six teams play eachother it brings back great memories and the stories you herd from your father or your grandfather about the earlier years.

I was born in Kalamazoo so I'm a Red Wings fan. I've loved them all my life. I live in California now, so I go to every single 'Wings game in LA, Anaheim, and all the way up to San Jose. I have tons of memorabilia from Chris Osgood, Gordie Howe, Darren McCarty, Steve Yzerman and plenty of others. I watch hockey every night on the Center Ice package, Red Wings first, and then any team that has an ex-wing. My car is red, my drumset is red, and I even purchase all of my goalie gear in red! I'm constantly in jerseys and even my hard hat at work is from the Wings. I'm all Wings, all the time!

I'm a Detroit Red Wings fan. Have been since 1996. I don't live anywhere near Detroit. I watch ALL of their games on tv. I have been to several of their games in person. I have met Nicklas Lidstrom, my favorite player. I have a room in my house, it is called "The Hockey Room", nothing but hockey memorabilia in there. All my friends tell me that no matter what we are talking about I can turn the conversation into a hockey conversation! :-)
