it is only some people. I am not one. Who cares who marries who. It is how they treat each other. Hopefully with respect. And there are alot of marriages out there where the man and woman dont respect each other. And that has nothing to do with interracial marriages.
Hate is somthing people grow up with. If you hate a certain type of persson your children will hate them also.
Love and let love.
Peace.

I don't think that all Americans are racist. I'm Canadian and I'm in an interracial relationship and we don't encounter much problem neither here nor when we go to the states. The fact is : not everyone is going to like it but that's THEIR problem.
It's good to sometimes join a community with individuals in the same situation. A good one is: interracialrelationships.ca it is actually a blog of an interracial relationship that give out topics for discussion and that encourage the unitying of people in interracial relationships as well as those that are curious about it.

As a Christian it is not my job or right to judge the lifestyle of anyone. Gay, straight, Muslim, catholic, atheist, etc. love the sinner, hate the sin is my motto. I do not agree with gay marriage. I will never attend or support a gay marriage. I don't care who it is, my brother, mother, sister, or even one of my children. It's very clearly laid out in the bible that it is a sin. Now, that doesn't by any means make it okay for me to be slanderous or hateful to you. But, I will pray for your soul and that God would work His perfect will in your life. I will say this though, what gives you or anyone else the right to say what you believe is better or more enlightened than what I believe?? I've noticed that there are a whole lot of people that want their "rights" and "opinions" heard all the while stomping on the "rights" and "opinions" of others. Btw- I'm not saying other religions are sins- just trying to give examples of how people can be different

Not all people in America hate interracial marriage, but I know what you mean. The reason is very historic. This hatred of interracial marriages dates back to the days of slavery when many blacks were slaves and it was taught that blacks were inferior to whites. That atitude continued even after slavery was made illegal. It was taught for generations and still exists to this day. In the South where I live, where most slaves lived, that attitude is even more common.

This goes way back to the days of slavery.where whites& blacks were totaly different. In those days blacks had few/little rights. It took a long time for whites 2 except blacks as ppl. not slaves who a different shade of skin other than white.when blacks started 2 hit against it in the 40's straight through 2 the 90's even now in 2000's some ppl. have a problem have a problem seeing interracial couples 2 gether.they still have that old mentaliaty'blacks&whites should'nt mix'. it's taboo.although there laws against racism it still continues. there r organizations that strictly racist and no matter what u do u can't change them.I THINK THEY WERE JUST BULLY'S AFRAID OF ANOTHER RACE COMING INTO THEIR SOCIETY. it's plain stupid&racist

People will stare and sometimes make racist comments but you must know True love can overcome everything , plenty of my white guy friends claim they only want to date black women but i can't help but wonder is this attraction only based on color or are they attracted to the actual person behind the color you know ?
lol i guess i should ask this as my next question ?
But sure if your reasons are genuine you should date whatever color you want , whatever gender and so on

Because their is a lot of racist attitudes in our country.
There are Americans who are actively against the subject, others who don't think it is natural but don't say anything,
and then people like myself who have better things to do with my life than get involved with hate issues.
edit: to comment on 'liker's answer- it goes back even further to ancient history. The Spartans never mixed with anyone either.

It is pure ignorance. My daughter (white) is married to a black man. We are from the south, and even though I thought I was so open minded and non-judgmental, it felt different at first when it affected my personal life. I now have 2 bi-racial grandchildren, and I know now that love is truly color blind. I love my son-in-law, and I just DARE anybody to say anything negative about my granddaughters! Even you need to learn to love a woman based on her character rather than her color. That is when all prejudices will be gone - when you are attracted to a "person" rather than a color of skin.

Not so far back, when my grandmother was a girl, interracial marriage was illegal. My grandmother wasn't one to hate those of other races, but she could not get past the fact that the law had changed.
