Bush fired all the US attorneys in 2001, now he is firing the ones that he nominated that were doing their job ethically.

In the broadest sense there is no difference however, in this case, there are ethical, if not legal, issues at hand. It is the duty of the Justice Department to prosecute illegal activity...it would be an unethical abdication of duty to not prosecute illegal activity simply because it was done by people who are members of the President's party. Party membership or loyality ought not to have a significant influence on whether or not someone is prosecuted because 'justice' is not the same as 'reward and punishment' or 'retribution'. Whether or not the firings were simply partisan, i.e. punishing attorneys for pursuing investigations of 'friends of Bush', or if it was a dispute of resource allocation between the President and his appointees, i.e. they used too much money pursuing 'corruption' cases when the administration's focus is on 'drug & sex trafficing', is what has yet to be determined. If it is the latter there should be no problem, however if it is the former then the ethical and legal implications become important.

He didn't fire justices, members of his administration fired perfectly capable DOJ prosecutors.

Sure, other presidents have done the same, and it's stupid: I think it's a ridiculous practice no matter if it's Clinton orBush doing it. DOJ attorneys should be hired the same way FBI agents are, with ability and merit the only criteria. Partisanship is destroying our fine nation.

The president has the power to fire any of them, at any moment, for any reason.

Like some say, hate the game, don't hate the player.

It goes to show that we need a improvement in our country. We need to amend the Constitution so this can not happen to people that do their jobs.
