how do i beat my son in monopoly?

everytime we play he wins, even if i me and my wife team up on him and he's not cheating. we read the strategy and we still loose. help

Several things might help. Try to buy at least one of each color group, this keeps your son from building. When you have all of one color, start off building on the space that is landed on the most by your son, or if there is a card saying advance to one of the spaces( i.e. Illinois Avenue). The cheaper properties are easier to build on, also the color groups or properties which have a Chance card saying ADVANCE TO... Railroads are good, the more the merrier. At the beginning, the first two maybe three times around the board, if you land on INCOME TAX it will probably be cheaper to figure your actual worth rather than pay the $200.00. Pay close attention to when you roll doubles. Move and roll again quickly if your first doubles lands on your son's property, before he can ask for his rent, then you won't have to pay. It is not nice, but it is legal. Never pay rent until he tells you how much and asks for it. When you land in jail, stay there for the full three turns if possible. No rent to pay but you can collect income. Try not to land on Boardwalk or Park Place, and say a prayer when you roll the dice especially to get past the high rent district.

try to get at least one of every property--that way he cant start monopolizing on the ones he does have. If you can get all two or three of the same property colors, build houses and hotels so that when he lands there, it'll cost him. Railroads and utilities, too, add up when you have all of them. Even though it may cost you more in the beginning, it will cost him all in the end.

Let him win. And just try and if u dont win then whatever. Kids like to win dont just cheat like others are suggesting. Thats just stubid to cheat against a kid in a game that doesnt matter much at all.

at the beggining of the game after every two propertys you buy mortgege one of them that way you have enough money to get around the board buying every property you can , without going into a bid. try that it has worked for me many times i even beat the computer with it.

get the crappy row. (purple and light blue, i always do and thats how i win)
don't build if he is too far away, wait untill he is 2 turns away, you might need the $.
