In 11 seasons great players have already made their mark with awards, records, & etc. If you think Kobe is great then explain this. This is what he's done in 11 seasons.

Ok, first off Kobe is a great player. Records are not everything, and considering what the kid has done so far and what of his career he has left he will be one of the best all time.

However bashing Jordan is no way to make Kobe look better. As of right now IMO Jordan is still the greatest all time. The guy changed the game forever. He could take over any game at anytime and talk about hitting the shot in the clutch. Yes he had Pippen, and yes Pippen had a good career and is considered a top 50 player, but would he have been that great had he not played w/ Jordan? Look at the players that looked good when they played w/ MJ then afterwards wern't the same. Horace Grant, BJ Armstrong for example. Besides Kobe had Shaq, and he is one of the most dominate middle men the NBA has seen. Honestly its too bad the two had their issues, because I honestly thought they could have been the most dominant duo in NBA history.

Long story short Kobe is one of the best players in the NBA, and could become THE best, but don't hate on MJ because someone is hating on Kobe. Any real fan of the game realizes they were/are both great.

"3 Championships as a role player " try 3 championships as a star during the 3 years lakers won championships:
99-00:22.5 PPG
00-01: 28.5 PPG
01-02: 25.2 PPG

How many 6'6 SG's do you know that have an assist title and defensive player of the year award?

0 6th man of the year awards? his only bench season was when he was a rookie. Their has been 1 rookie in NBA history to win it that is Ben gordon, who played Uconn instead of coming straight from High School like Kobe did so he had experence.

He has almost by himself led his team into the playoff chase

"only" 1 35 PPG season. know how many Shaq, vince carter, D-wade and lebron have combined? zero.

81 points not the record so what it is the highest among current NBA players and 2nd highest all time, and also more than Michael Jordan ever recorded in one game.

kobe is one of the best players of this era.

How bout 12 3 pointers made in one game?
How bout 8 3 pointers made in one half (Against MJ btw)
How bout 8 all nba team selections?
How bout 6 all nba defensive team selections?
How bout he became the youngest all star ever?
How bout he just entered his prime and he's only 28 and won 3 chapmionships and 1 scoring titles already?
How many Olympics did he want to play in?
How bout he became the youngest to reach 16,000 points? This with 2 seasons comin off the bench and his 3rd season, the NBA was shortened to 50 games due to the strike?

He's in his 11th year in the league and he's right up there with Jordan's numbers peformances when MJ was in his 11th year (Even tho kobe rode the bench for two years and an NBA season being cut short)

He didn't get any playing time in his rookie year you idiot, because of stupid Del Harris, otherwise he would've won. He played less than 13 mpg and still average about 8 ppg.
You can't get more than one rookie of the year award you dumb fool.
How many shooting guards you know of have won assist titles? MJ? HELL NO! WADE? HELL NO? CARTER? HELL NO? TMAC? HELL NO

OH yea thats right he was a role player when he won the championships averaging 30 ppg.
Why the hell do you haters waste so much time....admit it he's the best

Being great doesn't mean being perfect. Several superstars in the NBA even haven't won a single scoring, assist or rebounding titles. Kobe is probably the best or one of the best bb player of all-time. And I will put my cards to it. We will look up to Kobe at anytime when the Lakers could get the crown. Give Kobe a break why don't you?

so in your opinion a great player has to be perfect? Every legend has a alot of 0's in their stats. I don't like Kobe, but I'm not going to be ignorant either. The guy has talent and he will go down as one of the NBA's best. Any real NBA fan with some knowledge can see that.

What's with all this Kobe hating? Name me one "great" athlete (in ANY sport) and I'll show you a long list of their failures. This includes Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong, etc. Nobody is perfect. What about all the accomplishments that he has achieved? How many basketball players in history can match his accompishments? Not many, and Kobe still has several years left in his career. So please stop with the blind Kobe-hating and judge athletes by their accomplishments and not their failures.

Hes a good player and all but the times the team was good was not all him. Its weird but as he becomes a team player and opens his ability farther then he might be great.
