My Soc. Studies teacher asked us to write a paragraph on which is more important people's names or their actions....
(yea i know might sound a little weird but were learning about ancient greeks and how thhey though names were so important.....)

Your actions.....because, like your words, they reveal what kind of person you really are, especially under stress......
Out of the abundance of the heart (the spirit of man), the mouth speaks....It always will....One can suppress their thoughts and intentions for only so long, but it will ALWAYS come out in some way or another and you might not even realize what is in your own heart....
By their fruits (actions), you shall know them....
Like they say, Garbage IN, Garbage out....and everything a person hears - even out of their own mouth -- goes into their mind and it shapes their thoughts and their words....If some-one has the wrong kind of aquaintances and surroundings,
it WILL effect their outlook and their actions......
Man judges by the outward appearance. God judges by the heart.
people will know you by the "personality" that you (whoever) try to project in public, but God knows the REAL character of a person, regardless of how they might try to hide it...or He will
see the GOOD in a person that others don't take the time to notice.

I would have said their actions...........but, since you are studying ancient Greece that makes it a little harder. Why? Well if you go back far enough your name was everything. Especially if you were rich. It didn't really matter what you did. If you came from a wealthy family your name would carry you through...........well, I guess even now. Money can buy you out of any trouble.

I think actions would be more important because very few people know who invented the television or the computer, but they are found world wide. People don't bother with important peoples' names, just what they do.

I would say their actions. A name is a name is a name. It just word. And there is a saying for that; actions speak louder then words. And as I said before all a name is a word.

i would say there actions...its kinda like saying why do u date a guy/girl..not because of there looks but because of there personality.
