When I was about 8 years old, my mother took my brother and I to a big city park where an Easter Egg hunt was held. It wasn't like they do now, with hundreds of plastic eggs laid out in plain sight over a large lawn, and the little kids (and their parents) running over each other to pick up the most. These were real eggs, hidden in branches and bushes and not in plain sight. I think you could turn them in for prizes, maybe, but I just remember hunting and searching, and being so excited to finally spot one. It's a happy childhood memory for me, I can still remember the sun shining through the branches, and the thrill of the hunt!

As a child my favorite memory would be, getting up Easter morning, finding our Easter basket, then off to get dressed for church. My parents made sure we had a new dress and little straw hat. Our shoes were shined to perfection, and glistened in the light. Then we would all gather for photos, looking cleaned up, shiney, and new. Then off to church, and home. Mom would always make us wait to eat any candy the Easter Bunny had brought us, because she had dinner cooking for us and my grandparents, and she didn't want us to spoil our appetite. Waiting till after church and after dinner to eat that chocolate bunny was so hard, but we all did it.
Looking back, it was the simple things in life that made the best memories for me. Thank you for asking this question and giving me a chance to look back and reflect. Happy Easter.

When i was a kid growing up, my mom and dad drove up to Oshawa to celebrate Easter with my Babcia. She used to make Polish Specialties like Kilbassa, Egg soup, Kapusta, quatletti, and these yummy homemade apple jam cakes. My Babcia was the best. I miss her alot. Every Easter and Christmas my mom puts out my Babcia's ornaments so that it feels as though she is there with us.
