First, let's have one thing straight. In Polish, there are two terms: "nationality" (which in the US is understood as "ethnic origin") - and this you get only by being born as a child of Polish parents, and "citizenship" ("nationality" in the US) - which is a legal status of a person living in Poland. The fastest way to become a citizen of Poland is to marry a citizen of Poland, but mind you, although "utility marriage" happens in Poland, it is punishable, if proven.
Another way is to obtain a status of permanent resident (comparable to the US Green Card), usually dependant on the candidate's usefulness and behavior. This means that you have to get a job here and your employer cannot find a similar specialist on the local labor market. And you have to have a spotless police record.
After some time of permanent residence (at least 5 years) you can apply for Polish citizenship, indicating that you want to settle in Poland. Each case is reviewed individually, and in motivated cases this 5-years term may be reduced.
