I have the PS1 game Final Fantasy VIII and IX (just newly bought) and I was wondering if there will be any specific problems that I will encounter when playing this game. For ex. Will I have to update my PS3 before I could play thios game? Or can i play it w/o updating my system. Any other things that i should be aware of, please list

i don't think you need an update to play the games, but you may need it for it to be in the best quality, cause a lot of PS2 games looked like crap on the PS3 when it first came out and didn't have an update, I may be wrong about needing an update, but the PS1 wasn't as advanced as the PS2, so they don't need as much software to play 1's games

You don't have to update. The PS3 can read all PS2 and PS games. I am not a big FF fan, sorry. The songs are all good, though (my brother plays those games).

Don't sweat it! All games from the Playstation and Playstation 2 will work perfectly on the PS3. Also, I love Final Fantasy X, and my favorite person is Auron because he is wicked awesome. I like the theme song for FFX, Otherworld.

The PS 3 does not play all of the PS 2 games so I don't think it'll play a PS1 game.

It plays both..twinkies Yeah..mmmm those are so fun..try to get to Level Excercise....ull get better things like girls instead of PS1 games...but u need to get beat excercise...(my comment was pointless.)

considering PS3 had a problem with PS2 games i doubt ull get anywhere
