It could be muscles tightening up because maybe you're nervous. Take a couple deep breaths and relax.

1.everyone's cervix tends to hang down, it could be that and you'll need to learn to "work around it". 2. you may be too dry at that particular moment (if this is your first time trying a tampon, wait until your heaviest day to help combat this problem, then you'll know what to do) 3. try a different brand, maybe you and the container aren't getting along. 4. this may be most helpful, tilt the tampon towards your back as you're inserting, your vagina is curved and if you're going straight in then of course you're hitting something. 5. i use OB brand, the ones without an applicator that you push in with your finger. it's not as gross as it sounds. good luck

Okay, you could have skin that has grown there which will keep that area closed off enough you can't slide a tampon through. See a doctor, because the skin will need to be removed.

you need to go and see the doctor if you think something is wrong, when you insert a tampon it must be inserted on a angle towards the back.if this does'nt work ,go see the doctor.

Could be just skin. You need to relax, spread your legs really wide or squat, and relax you body, insert it slow. Should work. Just in case, read the instructions.
