I would go to a craft store or a good craft section of a store and go to the candy section. Wilton makes a candy/frosting tint that is that is a deep, deep pink...start slow! A little goes a very long way.

If you're starting with white, buy some red food coloring and add it a little bit at a time. If you're starting with pink frosting, you can do the same.

I would just buy some food coloring, as there's no need to buy more frosting if you already have some.

You could buy yourself red food die. If you're lucky, maybe you will be able to find one that is black too (if not, you may have to find something else dark, like cocoa or powdered chocolate) Mixing red with white (I assume your icing is vanilla), should give you a light pink colour. To darken it, add increments of the dark food die or cocoa powder until your pink darkens.

Now if you want it shocking too, that could be difficult- you might need a Van Graff generator connected to wires around your cake that sparks people when they get close to it!

If you're buying Wilton, I'd go with the colour Rose - everything else is either too red or too pale. Have fun!
