A sound card is a device that plugs into your motherboard to provide your system with sound. They are mostly PCI slotted and most motherboards have PCI slots on the boad for you to add devices. Once you have installed the card you will need to install the drivers for the sound card. If you don't have the driver CD then you will have to search the net for the drivers.
