depending on how much and what all was hit with it...water is the best liquid to spill and have a chance of recovery as it is not corrosive like a soda would be...i would just completely unhook it from everything and remove the battery and let it completely dry and try to start it up.....a blow dryer on low heat would help

I have used alcohol to clean out a laptop before. You have to take the keyboard off, make sure no moisture got down into the system board. The alcohol will evaporate pretty quickly so it won't soak things too badly. Try wiping any wet parts down with alcohol and a good clean cotton rag. A little canned air may help it dry quicker, but do that carefully. That's all a tech would do--what else can you do? Good luck. It can be done.

yeah! hurry! after the first minuite you are in trouble. open it up all the way, screen is flat, pop out the keyboard (if thats where the water spilled) and flip the pc over all the way. after a minuite or two of that, get a cotton swab dampened by rubbing acohol, rub it between all the little cracks and crevices. after it has all evaporated, it is best that you send it in to get the internal componets restored. if you dig any further into the pc you risk deactivating (for lack of a better word) the warranty, so they wont fix it at all.
