i passed my test in september and have bought a rover 100 automatic but have fallen madly in love with the new scoda roomster. but e problem is they only do it in tiptonic or manual. so my question is can i drive it legally or will i have to take a manual driving test? i asked my instructer but he said that he dident know. i surly cant be the only one wondering about this can i???

on the assumption its not got a cluth pedal there wont be a problem.

A Tiptronic transmission can operate just as the common type of automatic transmission, the Tiptronic design is implemented using a torque converter like other automatic transmissions....sounds like an automatic to me

A Tiptronic is an automatic with selective manual over-ride, and as such can be used in full-automatic mode, and driven on an automatic-only licence.

A tiptronic is a fully automatic gearbox although it has a facility for selecting gears individually,so the answer is you can drive it.

yes you can drive a tiptronic you only need to take a manual test if its clutch controlled.
