I think the reason everyone who hates duke is because there good and win with white guys. It gets annoying hearing all the crap that white guys cant play and then duke wins championships with them. Its all jeaolusy. The people who hate duke are the lazy white folks who never played basketball due to lack of work ethic. No one hated duke until blacks started playing it more. Not trying to sound racist but I cant beleive people would hate duke because of their white players.

I like Duke and respect Coach K. I was listening to Dan Patrick's and Ken Olbermann's show the other day and they were discussing this very issue on there. They mentioned how the white players (Laettner, Redick, Collins) for Duke were despised by many but the black players (Hill, Brand, Maggette, Battier, Williams) weren't. I don't get this because why hate on the white Duke players. Why didn't people hate Larry Legend or Pete Maravich, weren't they not great players also?
I think America likes to root against Duke because they feel their basketball squad is elite much like the Yankees you feel me. They're tired of seeing Duke in the tourney every year and gloat when we're knocked out.

People who hate Duke hate them for the same reason people hate the NY Yankees. Both have been very, very good in recent years and always seem to win. People want to see someone else win once in awhile.
And the New York Yankees are not all black, now are they????

People hate Duke because most schools that play them lose, so most people only know Duke as that team that keeps beating their alma mater...

i am white and i hate duke because i am a carolina fan, race has nothing to do with it. so white people can play basketball what is wrong with that
