no need to spas or run to the vet it is perfectly normal. she will act like she is "taking a dump" just ensure all the eggs are out of her within 24 hours of the first egg being released you can usually feel them but not always. this is natural for beardies and they do not go through pain the way humans do when laying eggs/having babies. be aware egg binding is always possible so if you are not completely sure she has rid herself of all of them you can take her to the vet to be on the safe side. you can discard the eggs in the toilet if you are sure she has NEVER been bred. if she has she can store sperm up to 2 years.

My boyfriend and I breed bearded dragons for a living. Young females can produce infertile eggs, or plugs, for no particular reason. Her natural biological clock will tell her that it's time to create the next generation. Sometimes even the sight of a male will trigger this effect.

Laying infertile eggs will not harm your female. She uses most of the calcium she would normally be used on herself on the eggs instead so she will need her calcium upped. A UVA/UVB tube is extremely beneficial at this point in time.

Usually, you cannot see infertile eggs protruding from her sides. If you gently feel her stomach you can sometimes feel the outlines of them. She is ready to lay eggs when she is uncommonly restless and/or digs relentlessly in her enclosure or stops eating. Prepare a lay box for her. Take a large Rubbermaid bin and fill it at least a foot deep with unfertilized plain old dirt. Walmart sells 40lb bags for a dollar or so. Mix the dirt with water until you can squeeze it and it takes shape. Pile most of it on one side of the box to form a slope and pack it lightly so when your female diggs into it it doesn't cave in on her. Some females will only lay if the dirt is warm so use hot/warm water when mixing it. Place a heat lamp above the slope to keep the dirt warm. Place your female into the bin and let her be. Some are very picky and if they see you while preparing the nest/laying; they will cover it up and start again. When the hole is filled it is safe to take her out and clean her up. Some females are protective of their nests so do not remove the eggs while she watches. If you know for sure that they are infertile you can just throw them away. If there is any chance they could be fertile and you do not want babies, put them in the freezer to destroy them.

Some females will lay only one clutch, or batch of eggs, but some females will produce about 3 clutches on average. First timers will usually only lay one or two clutches of 20 or so eggs. Make sure that she has laid all of the eggs because she can die from egg binding. If you suspect that this may have happened, visit your vet immediately and have an x-ray done to make sure. She should be fine. It will be like regular labor, but the eggs won't hatch. I don't think you have anything to worry about. My snake did the same thing and although the eggs did not hatch, she was fine. Giving her water was a good idea, you should leave her in peace for the rest of the day and come check on her later. If things don't go as planned after a day or two then I would seek medical attention.

If she looks like she is having trouble laying then you need to take her to the vet, because she is probably egg bound and if not seen by a vet will die. Good luck, hope she's ok.
