According to the farmer I get my eggs from: They are essentially the same. The brown eggs are laid by a different variety of chicken that lay fewer eggs and require more grain to produce their eggs, which is why they are more expensive.
Ever travelled and ordered breakfast? The color of the yolks varies depending where you go from a bright golden to a weak yellow. Again they're the same, only the type of grain they are fed effects the appearance.

Chickens like people have different ethnicity .. White eggs come from white chickens and brown eggs come from brown-ish chickens. Most of the eggs in your supermarket come from the following breeds of chickens: the White Leghorn, the Rhode Island Red, the New Hampshire, and the Plymouth Rock.

White Leghorn chickens are white and lay white eggs. Rhode Island Red, New Hampshire and Plymouth Rock chickens are all reddish brown and lay brown or brown-speckled eggs.

brown eggs actually taste WAY BETTER than white eggs, and are healthier, too. i think its like omega 3 or something like that. they are usually organic too.
