Croatian men don't like whores, they want to settle down, have children. Allmost all of them are catholics, croatia has been catholic for 13 centuries. If you dress in high heels and short dresses, I am sure many will be interested, to sleep with you and make fun of you. But the girl they marry is a good housewife and has no indecent history. They want a girl they can take home and introduce to the family.
Croatian men are loyal, hard workers and very religious.

Like (everywhere) else, some are nice and friendly, some are rude...
Usually guys from Dalmatia (Split, Zadar etc.) are somewhat like Italian men - very flirting and very good looking, and people from Zagreb are usually not that open and straightforward. But it's not a rule.
As an American woman, you will be well accepted here. It'll be very difficult for you though if you don't want to be 'noticed'. People here love tourists, so you'll probably be considered as a kind of a tourist attraction :)

if he wants a good girl now it's probably because he was with bad girls before, so be carefull cause they are the worst they look for a good girl but it's after they had all the bad ones, and that's who they like to have in the side when they have a good girl! so make sure he wants only a good girl for real!
